JOAQUIM GAY DE
MONTELLÀ
President of Foment del Treball
Behind every business, there is a backdrop of talent striving for creativity, inspiration, emotion and passion. This work endeavours for one’s products or services to please one’s target clients, to gain a foothold on new markets and to establish themselves as a brand. All these require the joint effort of many people who, thanks to their commitment, transcend their own immediate interests. If this business is, on top of all that, committed to its environment and seeks to contribute to economic and social dynamism by promoting activities that ensure equal opportunities, then the effort will have been worthwhile.
The New Barcelona Post is a space where all this is possible, a meeting place for art, businesses, science, innovation, fashion, gastronomy and, in a word, talent. This is Barcelona, this is Catalonia.
Spirit is running high and there is so much to do! Communication is the driving engine of transformation fuelling us to become better and more generous. Anyone who feels this driving force is welcome here. The New Barcelona Post needs to be shared for everybody to remember that Barcelona is the place where you always come back.
JOAN PUJOL
General Secretary of Foment del Treball
Foment del Treball’s publishing history dates back to the mid-19th century and the release of El Bien Público, the newspaper from the Institut Industrial de Catalunya, which came out in February 1849. Then came El Protector del Pueblo, El Eco de la Producción, El Economista... and a few other papers whose main purpose was to defend the interest of Catalan industrialists. Through different times in history -monarchy, republic, transition to democracy …- Foment has always represented businesses and has contributed to developing economic growth and business activities in Catalonia.
The digitalization process undergone by each and every aspect of our daily and business life is not alien to us. The New Barcelona Post is a magazine from Barcelona and Catalonia, a space for businesses, creativity, culture, science and innovation with a remarkably novel system of interrelation with our members and all the community of entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals. From the heart of Barcelona -in Via Laietana and the Born district- we generate business opportunities for our members and for those who want to be made familiar with ways of doing business activities in our city and, in general, in Catalonia.
