Three municipalities of the Community of Madrid – Pozuelo de Alarcón, Boadilla del Monte and Las Rozas de Madrid – have the highest annual average net income per capita, according to the Urban Indicators report published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The inhabitants of Pozuelo de Alarcón have an average annual income of 23,861 euros per capita, which places this municipality in Madrid in the leader of this ranking. At considerable distance is the second municipality, Boadilla del Monte, with 19,510 euros, and the third is Las Rozas, which has an average income per inhabitants of 18,798 euros.
To elaborate this ranking, which includes all Spanish municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, the average annual net income corresponding to 2015 from tax sources has been taken into account. The Urban Indicators report is a selection and adaptation of the European Urban Audit project, which collects information on living conditions in the cities of the European Union and the candidate countries.
Majadahonda, also from the Community of Madrid, ranks fourth in the ranking with an income per capita of 18,627 euros, while Sant Cugat del Vallès, in the province of Barcelona, is fifth with 18,326 euros.
The city of Madrid occupies the 15th place in the ranking with 15,257 euros of average income per inhabitant, while Barcelona appears two places later, in the 17th, with an income of 14,946 euros per capita.

On the other hand, the cities with less average income per inhabitant are Níjar (Almería), with 6,264 euros, Los Palacios y Villafranca (Seville), with 6,327 euros, and Alhaurín el Grande (Málaga), with 6,474 euros.
