or me, singing is living. Even if it seems like a cliché, it’s the only thing I know how to do. “In this way expresses the Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral, who has recently performed at the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival and who has talked exclusively for Banco Sabadell and The New Barcelona Post. The young musician presents his first album, Excuse me, which reflects, according to his words, “the search for an artistic personality, making versions of bolero or a fast swing, and they are also my compositions and my friend Leonardo Aldrey. This is a first album, with all its good and bad things from a first record”.
His first album of authorship Excuse me is a journey that begins in jazz and has influences from Bossa Nova and Latin America. Co-produced by the pianist Júlio Resende, the composer Leonardo Aldrey and Salvador Sobral himself, it has been edited by one of the most important Portuguese record companies, Valentim de Carvalho.
Born in Lisbon, the Portuguese singer and musician is one of the great promises of the music scene in Spain and Portugal.
In 2017 his theme Amar Pelos Dois took the highest score in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, thus leading to the triumph of Portugal for the first time in the contest. The song was written and produced by his sister Luisa Sobral and is a clear example of the artist’s delicacy, naturalness and musical elegance.
Salvador Sobral returns to the stage after recovering from the heart transplant operation he underwent at the end of last year and returns with great enthusiasm. The one from Barcelona, has been his second concert in Spain.
