Barcelona City Council has recently updated on its website the data on foreign trade in the Barcelona area during the year 2017.
Last year, exports from the province of Barcelona reached a record of 54,771.6 million euros, 7% more than the previous year. It was also the largest increase since 2012.
This figure means that Barcelona contributes almost a fifth (19.8%) of the total of Spanish exports, ahead of any other demarcation in the Spanish ranking
