The Gremi de Llibreters de Catalunya has released the list of best-selling books during Sant Jordi (St. George’s day).
“La força d’un destí“, the novel by Martí Gironell published by Columna Edicions and winner of the Premi Ramon Llull 2018, has been the best selling fiction book in Catalan. On the other hand, the writer María Dueñas has led sales in fiction books in Spanish with her novel “Las hijas del Capitán“, by Editorial Planeta.
In the case of non-fiction books in Catalan, “Operació Urnes“, by Xavier Tedó Gratacós and Laia Vicens Estaran (Columna Edicions), has been imposed, while in spanish the best seller has been “Las almas de Brandon“, by César Brandon Ndjocu (Espasa Libros).
This list was obtained from a representative sample carried out between unionized libraries until 18.30 hours on April 23 and with the information collected the previous day by Libridata, the automated system that obtains data from 180 points of sale in Catalonia and that includes independent bookstores and bookstore chains.
