Barcelona ranks seventh in the world in the worldwide ranking of attraction of international talent to enroll an MBA (Master in Business Administration), according the third edition of the study MBA City Monitor 2017, conducted by ESADE.
This study, commissioned by the director of Global Insights & Strategic Initiatives of the Business School ESADE, Iván Bofarull, evaluates the capacity of these cities to attract international full-time MBA students. These students dedicate between 12 and 24 months of their lives to this MBA, which means that the decision of the city of destination is not rash but taken carefully.
Barcelona, with 924 students, has gone up two positions on this ranking list.
The favourite city for international MBA students is Boston (USA), with 1,582 students. The second best is New York (1,474 students), while the third position is occupied by London (1,228 students), the first European city of the list. Paris is fourth (1,068 students) and Chicago, fifth (1,031 students).
The three European cities ranking among the ten best –London, Paris and Barcelona– have gone up a few positions in this year’s ranking. These three areas host the most prestigious business schools like the London Business School, Oxford and Cambridge in the London area, Insead and HEC in Paris, and IESE and ESADE in Barcelona, among others.
This study, issued since 2013, has taken into account 100 universities spearheading the Full-time MBA ranking published by the Financial Times. It includes, for every area, the educational institutions positioned within two hours’ distance.
