The Board of Directors of SGAB, the parent company of the Agbar group, has decided to return its corporate headquarters to Barcelona. This has been announced by the Catalan company in a statement. Then, Agbar becomes the first large corporation that restores its headquarters in Barcelona after having changed its location last autumn becouse of political uncertainty. It can be expected that this decision of the corporation opens the door to new returns of other companies’ corporate headquarters that also changed their location.
On October 7, 2017, Agbar decided to move its corporate headquarters to Madrid, a measure that was then announced that it was temporary with the aim of preserving the legal security of investors and protecting the interests of its workers, customers and suppliers.
Economic stability has led the Agbar Board of Directors to adopt this measure.
Agbar is a shareholder of several operators of the integral water cycle in Catalonia that during this period have maintained their headquarters in Catalonia.
“The change of the registered office has not affected the service we provide to our clients nor has it affected the planned investments, which have been executed within the foreseen terms, reaffirming the commitment that the Group has historically with each of our users”, said the company in its statement.
