Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has just presented the economic results corresponding to the second quarter of 2018. It has obtained a total income of 32,657 million dollars and a net profit of 3,195 million dollars.
This benefit would have been 8,266 million dollars without the effect of the recent record fine imposed by the European Union worth 4,340 million euros (5,070 million dollars) for abuse of dominant position with the Android mobile operating system. Google has announced that it will file an appeal against this sanction.
Alphabet’s main revenue stream is advertising income provided by Google, which between April and June 2018 amounted to 28,087 million dollars. This accounts for 86% of Alphabet’s total income.
