hoosing the protagonist of vivirdemais’ first collaboration was very easy: Josep Font is the most international Catalan designer. He is the creative director of the Spanish brand Delpozo since 2012, when the Perfumes y Diseño Group acquired the brand in order to preserve Jesús del Pozo’s legacy and re-launch the brand at an international level.
Josep Font was already well-known in the fashion industry; his collections were included in fashion shows in Barcelona, Madrid, Tokyo and Paris, where he was invited to take part in the Haute Couture Week.
Josep Font is a trained architect and that is evident in his clothes. He creates very feminine architectural pieces, mastering volume and enhancing women’s figures. With a strong identity, Delpozo’s prêt-à-couture philosophy moves between tradition and modernity, romanticism and timelessness, purity and sumptuousness, fantasy and sensibility. An ethereal and fragile aesthetic.
Since his first designs, he has worked with exceptional artisans on pieces where embroidery and shirring create unusual and unique combinations. Delicate fabrics are transformed into the maximum expression of creativity and colours are essential elements; Font handles the palette as if he were a painter in front of a canvas.
After ten seasons in fashion shows in New York, Delpozo made his début at London Fashion Week and chose, of course, the majestic Royal Institute of British Architects. The change of city is intended to boost the brand in the European market after the opening their second Delpozo shop (Madrid was the first) in the British capital. The highly applauded show was a mixture of nature and art, a collection inspired by the French artist Inès Longevial accompanied by live music by the Spanish singer songwriter Russian Red. Fascinating!
